Close call and a funny kid ...

Ok so I am driving on the freezing rain, icy, horrible Alberta roads and I go into a bit of a skid and after a slight scare manage to get back under control. Then from behind me I hear Mr O say "Do it again Mommy" I don't think so.

25 Things

Ok I keep getting tagged with this:
Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

So here it goes

Nothing Exciting Here Today...

Today was a pretty laid back day. It was snowing and blowing a little bit outside this morning but it was quite warm. Mr O & Baby K and I just took it easy, we watched some cartoons, played cars, did the dishes. A pretty boring day really.

We really have to get this whole Baby K temper tantrum thing under control. He was horrid today ;) He was pissed right off that I wouldn't let him climb up on the couch and jump with his brother. So he stands there screaming whilst trying to get a leg up on the couch to climb on up. AAHHHH! Soon he will just be able to get up there. Sooner yet if he realizes that he can push toys over to climb on. This is why little boys get hurt - they are CRAZY!!

I can't believe that in under a month Baby K will be a year. OMG! I booked his 1 year check up with his pediatrician today as well as his 1 year vaccinations at Public Health. I know there is a lot of controversy on vaccines but I choose to vaccinate my children. I did however change my mind on the flu vaccine - they didn't get it this year and probably won't ever again.

Today I was doing a water change on the fish tank and I had my little helpers there. I have a gravel vacuum thing that works with a siphon and Mr O helps hold the end of it to fill the bucket with water. Well while we were doing that Baby K thought that he should try to drink one of the bottles from the ammonia test kit and I exclaimed rather loudly & sharply "NO" well I scared the crap out of both Mr O and Baby K, Mr O accidently sprayed my legs with the water. Both of them were crying. It was awesome. Not really.

Well tomorrow is a school day so I am off to bed. Good night.

"I Won't Cry Today Mom"

That's what Mr O told me as we were getting ready for preschool this morning. I replied, "Oh, okay, good" Then Mr O said, "its a deal mom, lets shake on it" We did and he held up his end of the bargain. He looked very sad as I was leaving but he didn't let the tears fall. What an awesome guy! I love him.

He Did What?!!?

This actually happened last weekend but I'm just getting around to blogging about it now. Mr O was outside and I ran a bag of garbage over to the bin - leaving him not under direct supervision for approximately 30 seconds. I come back and he has his pants around his ankles and is peeing on the cat. Poor Lenny! Like he doesn't have it rough enough already - he's an outdoor cat. Now he is wet and smells like pee. I also find it incredibly hard to discipline my kids seriously when I am having a hard time not laughing. Cause I'm sorry but peeing on the cat - thats frickin' hilarious. I really wonder where kids come up with these ideas.

Temper Tantrums

They used to just be Mr O's forte, now Baby K is starting to like the occasional tantrum. I'm sort of at a loss on how to deal with temper tantrums in an 11 month old. He is just so sweet and cute and then suddenly he turns into this red-faced, screaming little monster. Its easy to get him to stop - just give him back whatever you took. Ha ha - obviously not an option.

Mr O still throws the occasional fit but you can usually talk him down from it or if its an option he can go and finish it in his room. Speaking of his room Mr O is afraid of his room, during the day he will play in there but if Baby K closes the door on him he just freaks out. Don't even bother trying to get him to go to sleep in there - not a chance. I actually moved his bed into Baby K's room and they sleep together. It seems to be working. Now they have a sleeping room and a toy/playroom not to mention the big playroom downstairs. Are my kids spoiled or what?!
I actually need to go through a lot of their toys and get rid of some. They got so much for Christmas and they already had so much. I'm thinking we might have a yard sale in the spring and get rid of a lot of the stuff we have accumulated in the 4.5 years we have been living here.

Meredith & Christina seemed to have patched things up on Grey's Anatomy. Yeah! Them fighting was just too much to take so I hope that's over. Amy Sloan was in last nights episode too, she used to go to the same school as me. I didn't actually know her but its still cool to see someone you recognize on national television.

Anyways I'll leave you with some pictures from Christmas. Take Care.

Sick, Sick, Sick

Awe man I am so ready to not be sick anymore. We just got over a cold then whammo another one hits. The kids are snotty and cranky (actually so am I). We've been sticking pretty close to home just trying to get well again.

Mr O started preschool the beginning of this month. Its going really well, well once I leave that is. He is not happy about me dropping him off. He cries and begs me not to leave him behind. Talk about laying on the guilt. Once I leave though he is fine and has lots of fun.

Baby K is walking now. Really well. He is going through a stage were he likes to drop things in the garbage - not cool. I really hate it when I throw something in and I have to go digging because it activated some toy that makes noise. Grrr.

I have to go make the boys some breakfast. Bye.
